Winding down. CASA group done with wind event. Storms continue nrn Ks to build/develop westward producing hail up to quarters and wind. Some of the best rotation signatures of the night but also sampling higher up.

CASA team has warned their marginal storms into the ground. Storms are in the process of dying as them move into central ok. With Don here, we’ve decided to let them do a short CASA archive case to round out the remaining hour or so of the operations night. Pete still working a couple storms storms backbuilding across Hastings area. Vortex has gone home for the night which gave us hope that storms would intensify.

CASA team cancelled warning. Other storms continuing to develop along northern edge and occasionally pulse up.  Travis helping Jeff bring up some LMA data since storms are in the network.

Storms in CASA network appeared to be letting up but last couple scans have shown increase as they move towards metro. This prompted another warning from CASA team. Storms in NE continue to go. Were doing some interrogation for shear/rotation as well but hail liklihood is high so additional warnings were issued.

Live Blog – 1 June 2009 (5:33 pm) – Start of IOP

Two areas of operation. Pete is doing MR/MS in Hastings CWA where shave and VORTEX2 are. Bill and Veronica are doing CASA which has more numerous storm coverage than earlier.  We may shift around during eveing depending on what CASA storms do during IOP.
