SteveH is adding a tornado threat based on increasingly favorable environment (backed winds, better moisture, and the southern end of the cell taking on supercell properties (WER, notch, low-level meso).

SteveH is letting his two northernmost storms keep low probabilities in case they re-intensify. Southern storm is still going strong.

Dave and Ryan have updated their storms. For their southern storm, hey have two cells encompassed by one threat area. An issue they struggled with in this approach is that they felt that the differing updrafts had different probabilities.

Dave said that it is tough to track so many updrafts, even if he was more comfortable with the software.

Dave and Ryan have traded off at 0037z – Ryan is now drawing polygons.

SteveH has some large wind threat areas (some with high probabilities), based on the already-strong synoptic winds combined with evaporatively-driven downdrafts. “Any 50 dBZ core has the possibility of producing strong winds.” Currently most concerned with the storm to the SW of KGLD.

SteveR/Jonathan would like some way to see if the polygons have been saved while they are waiting for the threats to be processed, as well as a way to quickly see a list of current probabilities for each threat.

SteveH is up to 3 storms now. Comment: need to have a better way to show that you are looking at old data. he may have a jump in his threat areas because he updated on old data.

Dave is paying close attention to the “upper-level” tilts (~3.1 deg) and is issuing his polygons from here. Not that this is wrong by any means, but not an anticipated procedure. We’ll see how it goes.

Also, still having some struggle with issuing new warnings – kinda clunky, plus awfully easy to mix up warning attributes between warnings.

Finally, Dave and Ryan opted to issue a larger warning polygon to cover two threats instead of two smaller ones.

SteveR and Jonathan just had a problem with the interface and accidentally updated their wind info with their hail probabilities. So, they deleted the incorrect info and are starting over.

SteveH is working two storms in NE CO by himself, using two machines – one with 2D2 and one with WDSS-II.
Primarily looks like hail and wind threat on both.

Software issue(s) – had a crash of wg when we deleted the Edit Polygon window, but the checkbox was still checked. He clicked it off and then back on and the display crashed.

When he brought the display back up (save setting shortly before – yea!), the shift-arrow browsing didn’t seem to work correctly. It wouldn’t go up to the “old” elevation. I have experienced this before since the latest fix by Charles. Not sure if they are related, and I’m not implying that as this might be an issue with having an incomplete volume scan.

In the meantime, we’ve issued another warning.
