A brand-new Website was unveiled this week to offer one-stop shopping for information about the NOAA Weather Partners, located in Norman, Oklahoma: www.norman.noaa.gov.
“The new Web site allows us to highlight the latest news, photos, videos and podcasts from the five NOAA organizations in Norman. The new format is easy to update and logical to navigate,” says Keli Tarp, NOAA Weather Partners Public Affairs Specialist.
The home page features a “What’s Hot” news story with news items for each of the five partners below. Links to Backgrounders, Events, Media Resources and Visitor Information are also prominent.
The NOAA Weather Partners are five federal government organizations involved in severe weather research, forecasting and support. They are:
National Severe Storms Laboratory
National Weather Service Forecast Office
Radar Operations Center
Storm Prediction Center
Warning Decision Training Branch
Collocation in Norman invigorates collaborations that lead to a rapid transfer of knowledge from research into technology, training and improved forecasts and warnings nationwide.
Significance: Provides the public and media easy access to cutting edge hazardous weather research.
