MiniMPEX (2016)

Mini-MPEX collected data on pre-storm and post-storm environments in an effort to better predict when and where thunderstorms will form. Various observation methods were used to explore real-time targeting of pre- and near-storm observations to improve numerical model forecasts of thunderstorms. My role in mini-MPEX was to operate the NOAA/NSSL CLAMPS2 platform to collect thermodynamic and kinematic profiles and launch radiosondes in pre- and near-storm environments. These days were easier than PECAN deployments, but often it was just me and one other person in CLAMPS making the workload heavier (and resulting in fewer photos). We saw some incredible sunsets though!
