Outreach

In addition to scientific field missions, I often talk to students or other groups about what we do as meteorologists in the field. Here are some links and photos from those endeavors.

METR 4603/5603 – Advanced Observations for Lower Atmospheric Research
I developed this class and began offering it at OU in fall 2021.

I joined the Weather Brains crew to discuss my work at NSSL and the National Weather Museum on Episode 807.

I was featured on episode 18 of Steve Maguire’s Obsessed with the Weather podcast! You can listen to it and find some other episodes here.

Check out the Observations on the Go video to learn about NSSL’s field observing equipment. Here I discuss the CLAMPS platform!

This virtual live panel – recorded on Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2020, click here – highlights the diverse paths of four scientists (including me) who work at NSSL. Each presenter shares their personal story about how they became a scientist. Then they answer viewers’ questions.

The Boston Museum of Science featured me in their new podcast series, Pulsar. You can find the podcast recording and transcripts in English and Spanish here.
