VORTEX-USA continues the work of the VORTEX-SE program and also expands it by seeking to increase our knowledge of meteorological processes and societal impacts of tornadoes nationwide, while gaining improved understanding of unique regional challenges. This page highlights recent advances in tornado research related to supercell tornadoes, QLCS tornadoes, and social and behavioral sciences that were funded by VORTEX-USA and VORTEX-SE.
Supercell Tornadoes
Posts are entries listed in reverse chronological order on the blog home page or on the posts page if you have set one in Settings > Reading. If you have created any sticky posts, those will appear before the other posts. Posts can be found in the Archives, Categories, Recent Posts, and other widgets. Posts are also displayed in the RSS feed of the blog. You can control how many posts are displayed at a time in the Reading Settings. The URL for a post includes the date the post was published like this: http://example.com/2008/11/30/post-title/
It is not uncommon to include links to important post categories on a menu bar. The classic example would be a link on your menu bar to the “News” category.
QLCS Tornadoes
Pages are static and are not listed by date. Pages do not use tags or categories. An “About Us” page is the classic example. Pages are frequently linked from a menu bar. The URL for a page looks like this: http://example.com/page-title/
Social Science
