{"id":353,"date":"2020-07-29T15:36:46","date_gmt":"2020-07-29T20:36:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/inside.nssl.noaa.gov\/vsecommunity\/?page_id=353"},"modified":"2020-07-29T15:36:46","modified_gmt":"2020-07-29T20:36:46","slug":"tornado-epidemiology","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/inside.nssl.noaa.gov\/vsecommunity\/tornado-epidemiology\/","title":{"rendered":"Tornado Epidemiology"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Research carried out recently in OU-CIMMS\u2019 Behavioural Insights Unit (BIU) in an attempt to draw together the wide-ranging literature related to tornado epidemiology. The literature drew from Centers for Disease Control (CDC) reports, grant reports and NOAA Service Assessments alongside academic journal articles for the first time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A key finding is that complexity exhibited by <em>vectors of vulnerability<\/em> is key to understanding drivers of <em>risk<\/em>, and how these impact on <em>survivability<\/em>.
