My background is in astrophysics specializing in spectroscopy and computing. I am currently a software developer for the Applied Computing for the Meteorological Enterprise (ACME) team within the Cooperative Institute for Severe and High-Impact Weather Research and Operations (CIWRO) at the National Weather Center. The ACME team provides Geographic Information System (GIS) data and analysis, assembling and deriving the geospatial data sets necessary for algorithms and display in the Multi-Radar Muti-Sensor (MRMS) and Flooded Locations and Simulated Hydrographs (FLASH) operational systems as well as assist in the software development of MRMS and the Warning Decision Support System - Integrated Information (WDSS-II).
