NSSL Staff Profiles

Linda has been NSSL’s Financial Management Specialist since 2020.  As FMS, she strives to facilitate lab operations by providing financial administration and management, including performing laboratory acquisitions, serving as liaison to external contacts, completing grant and procurement processes, and facilitating Inter-Agency and other special agreements.  Prior to becoming the FMS, Linda served as a budget analyst (three years) and as WRDD’s Program Support Assistant (six years).  As her kids say, “she never met a spreadsheet she didn’t like…”

Linda is originally from the southeastern United States (SC, NC, FL) and her biggest fear about moving to Oklahoma was the TORNADOES.  After working at the NWS Storm Prediction Center for ten years, she gained a very healthy respect for severe weather forecasting and is now proud to be a part of the great organization whose mission is to help improve lead-time and accuracy of severe weather warnings and forecasts.

Linda has a very close relationship with her four children (plus their spouses) and five adorable-and-very-active grandchildren.  She enjoys taking photographs (especially of old or interesting buildings, windmills, waterfalls, flowers, and beaches). She also loves learning Italian (1400+ straight days on Duolingo), being a “Nonna,” reading and watching mysteries, and taking care of her two cats, Pepsi and Ragazzo.
