{"id":152,"date":"2019-01-31T15:04:47","date_gmt":"2019-01-31T21:04:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/inside.nssl.noaa.gov\/phi-em\/?page_id=152"},"modified":"2019-02-01T15:27:00","modified_gmt":"2019-02-01T21:27:00","slug":"recruitment","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/inside.nssl.noaa.gov\/phi-em\/recruitment\/","title":{"rendered":"Participation Opportunities"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Recruitment and Participation for Spring 2019 EM Experiment<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Are you a current emergency manager interested in working with us in the Hazardous Weather Testbed?\u00a0 This is a special opportunity to test the future of the National Weather Service warning paradigm.\u00a0 We typically require a week of time commitment for the on-site experiment, which occurs in the summer at the <a href=\"http:\/\/ou.edu\/nwc\">National Weather Center<\/a> in Norman, Oklahoma.\u00a0 We sample emergency managers from all of the US for this experiment!\u00a0 Participants are welcome to post about their experiences while participating in the project (outside of core experiment hours, which are approximately from 8 AM &#8211; 5 PM) and will have the chance to meet top scientists in the field as well as tour the building.\u00a0 Travel expenses for participants can be provided per University of Oklahoma travel rules.<\/p>\n<p>Recruitment for this year&#8217;s project just opened!\u00a0 The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/inside.nssl.noaa.gov\/phi-em\/recruitment\/em_inviteletter2019\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-205\">EM Invitation Letter 2019<\/a>\u00a0can be viewed here.\u00a0 This year we are funded to test a new warning paradigm (similar to that shown in the animation of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nssl.noaa.gov\/projects\/facets\/\">FACET #4<\/a>).\u00a0 This year&#8217;s project will take place for\u00a0<strong>two<\/strong> weeks, May 13-17 and May 20-24 here in Norman.\u00a0 For more details about this year&#8217;s project, please see the above attached letter.<\/p>\n<p>If you would like to apply, you can apply online at:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/goo.gl\/forms\/T7845Lr8IWcDfrJi2\">https:\/\/goo.gl\/forms\/T7845Lr8IWcDfrJi2<\/a>.\u00a0 Deadlines for applications are\u00a0<strong>March 29, 2019.<\/strong> .
