{"id":9741,"date":"2014-06-04T19:45:49","date_gmt":"2014-06-05T00:45:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/hwt.nssl.noaa.gov\/ewp\/internal\/blog\/?p=9741"},"modified":"2016-10-03T17:53:59","modified_gmt":"2016-10-03T22:53:59","slug":"daily-summary-week-4-day-3-4-june-2014","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/inside.nssl.noaa.gov\/ewp\/2014\/06\/04\/daily-summary-week-4-day-3-4-june-2014\/","title":{"rendered":"Daily Summary: Week 4, Day 3 (4 June 2014)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/inside.nssl.noaa.gov\/ewp\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/22\/2014\/06\/0604_reports.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-9742\" alt=\"0604_reports\" src=\"https:\/\/inside.nssl.noaa.gov\/ewp\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/22\/2014\/06\/0604_reports.png\" width=\"582\" height=\"408\" srcset=\"https:\/\/inside.nssl.noaa.gov\/ewp\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/22\/2014\/06\/0604_reports.png 582w, https:\/\/inside.nssl.noaa.gov\/ewp\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/22\/2014\/06\/0604_reports-300x210.png 300w, https:\/\/inside.nssl.noaa.gov\/ewp\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/22\/2014\/06\/0604_reports-428x300.png 428w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 767px) 100vw, (max-width: 1200px) 60vw, 720px\" \/><\/a>Today, we operated in 4 county warning areas:<\/p>\n<p>Team 1 (Fowle &amp; Anderson)<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Louisville, KY<\/li>\n<li>Springfield, MO<\/li>\n<li>Cheyenne, WY<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Team 2 (Pelczynski &amp; Satterfield)<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Boulder, CO<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Early in the day, it appeared that the greatest severe threat would exist in the MS\/OH valley region.\u00a0 Additionally, there were enough breaks in the high-level clouds to allow for use of the GOES-R satellite products.\u00a0 However, as the day progressed, it became apparent that the region would not destabilize as much, so we moved Team 1 to Springfield, MO (based on a favorable mesoscale discussion).\u00a0 As it turns out, the capping inversion would hold over that area.\u00a0 Thus, we moved Team 1 to Cheyenne, WY &#8211; hoping that we could catch some lightning data from the LMA in Denver.\u00a0 A few marginally-severe storms did develop.<\/p>\n<p>Team 2 remained in Boulder all day.\u00a0 There, they used the GOES-R products extensively, including the NearCast, UAH CI, Probability of Severe, and lightning data.\u00a0 Several severe storms developed, though only one severe report was officially logged (for a landspout tornado).<\/p>\n<p><em>-G.
